AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today received the endorsement of Alice Patterson, founder and president of Justice at the Gate Foundation, for re-election in 2010.
“Gov. Perry’s strong moral leadership and commitment to upholding the values that protect life, strengthen families and defend freedom are the qualities Texas needs in its leaders to preserve its future opportunity,” said Patterson. “Gov. Perry is the candidate who will maintain our state’s forward momentum and defend social values that are increasingly under attack within our nation. I’m proud to offer him my support and endorsement in the upcoming election.”
Patterson founded Justice at the Gate in 2001 to pray for judges and raise awareness of civic issues. She is dedicated to empowering believers in God’s presence through reconciliation and education to impact the nation through prayer and civic involvement. Patterson has been involved in the civic arena since 1984 as President of Permian Basin Eagle Forum, Field Director for Texas Christian Coalition and in various political campaigns.
“Alice has been a solid source of compassion and support for public officials across our state through her ongoing prayers on our behalf for wisdom, guidance and steadfast leadership,” said Gov. Perry. “I’m honored to have her endorsement and thankful for her prayers and involvement with the social issues important to our state.”
