AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today received the support of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association (TCFA) Beef-PAC for re-election in 2010.
“Governor Perry is a good friend of the Texas cattle feeding industry, and the policies that he has put in place through the years have worked to ensure that our state remains a leader in food and fiber production,” said Beef-PAC Chairman Walter Lasley. “Rick Perry is the person Texans need to continue leading our state.”
Beef-PAC is the political arm of TCFA – a trade association that represents cattle feeders and feedyards throughout our great state. The Texas cattle feeding industry leads the nation, marketing approximately 6 million head or 25 percent of the nation’s fed cattle, and contributes $19 billion to the state’s economy annually.
“Texas is the nation’s number one beef-producing state and home to a cattle feeding industry which our state, regional and national economies all depend upon,” said Gov. Perry. “I’m honored to have the support of Beef-PAC and look forward to working with them to keep the Texas agriculture industry among the strongest in the nation.”
