AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today received the endorsement of the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association (DPSOA) PAC for re-election in 2010.
“Throughout his tenure, Gov. Perry has consistently worked to ensure that DPS has the resources it needs to fulfill its mission and the tools its officers need to do their jobs,” said DPSOA-PAC President Brian Hawthorne. “Rick Perry has a strong record of supporting the state’s law enforcement efforts and our members deeply appreciate his work to make Texas a better place.”
DPSOA is committed to promoting excellence in law enforcement through its support of the Texas law enforcement community. Established in 1974, DPSOA is one of the largest organizations of commissioned law enforcement officers in Texas and works closely with the Department of Public Safety Administration and the Texas Legislature to promote the general welfare of Texas law enforcement officers, department personnel, their families and communities.
“Texas law enforcement officers provide an invaluable service to our state and its people, making the sacrifices necessary to maintain our security and quality of life,” said Gov. Perry. “The Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association plays an integral role in efforts to honor these officers and provide them tools they need to effectively protect our communities. DPSOA-PAC joins the Texas Municipal Police Association, Texas Chemical Council, Texas Society of Professional Engineers, RNC Committeewoman Cathie Adams, Texas Right to Life, Houston Realty Business Coalition, Texas Apartment Association, Texas Republican County Chairman Association President Linda Rogers, Heidi Group Founder Carol Everett and Texas Alliance for Life in their endorsement of Gov.
